"Mrs. John Dohany." DAILY NONPARIEL, Sat. 14 Mar 1885.

The death of Mrs. Clara, wife of John Dohany, briefly announced in yesterday's NONPARIEL, was received with feelings of genuine sorrow by this entire community, which mourns in the death the loss of a noble woman, a beloved wife and mother.

Mrs. Dohany's maiden name was Clara Noble. She was borne at Moline, IL 16 Feb 1831. She was a lineal descendant of one of the families that came over in the Mayflower, and was directly related to Dr. Comsort Starr, a familiar name in the history of the New England States. Mrs. Dohany's mother, Mrs. Tryphena Palmer, a venerable mother in Israel, is still living at the advanced age of 92 years, and was visiting a son near Missouri Valley when her beloved daughter passed into the better life. She was married to Mr. John Dohany at Bellvue, IL, 31 Dec 1849, and for thirty-four years has been a sharer of his joys and sorrows, a novle and devoted wife. Her children, four daughters, Mrs. M.G. Griffin, Mrs. Will Manrer, and Misses Dell and Julia Dohany, and one son, John J. Dohany, survive her and, with the [ ] husband and father, have the sincere sympathy of all their friends.

The shadows have gathered over this home and the pall of death is here. The genial presence and the kindly greeting are no more. Only the inanimate form remains cold and senseless. The eye that flashed with intelligence has no more vision, the ear hears no sound of earth; the lips are sealed; the hand has lost its cunning; the mind, the soul, that dominated these powers, has gone that journey from which no traveler returns--gone into the mystic land, leaving behind a pure memory that will dwell fresh in the hearts of those who knew and loved this womanly woman. It remains that we cherish the memory of her virtues and imitate them, filling our lives with usefulness, as she did, to the advantage and benefit of those around her, to the improvement of society, to the comfort and honor of home, to the cause of charity and the church of God.

The funeral of Mrs. Dohany will take place from the residence, 332 south Second street, at 3 o'clock this afternoon. Funeral services at the residence by Rev. T. J. Mackay, of whose church Mrs. Dohany was a devoted and consistent member.
