Disneyland Tickets

This page has an overview of the different styles of tickets and ticket books available across Disneyland's history. It uses pictures from our personal collection of tickets to show you what is out there, from the opening day press pass to later ticket books.

Disneyland Magazines

There were a number of publications put out by Disneyland to promote the park. This page runs down a brief history of them. Click on the sample picture to get more pictures of that publication as taken from our personal collection of magazines.

24 Palmer Street Press

This print-on-demand imprint is used for reprints of early and scarce Edward Stratemeyer texts. These books include period illustrations, extensive annotations, and indroductions by James D. Keeline. They are available in 6x9 paperback or 6x9 cloth hardcover with dust jacket formats. Titles include:

  • Victor Horton's Idea (1889) — Edward Stratemeyer's first long serial story, published in book form for the first time in 2012 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birth.
  • Holiday Stories for Boys (1890s) — Short stories for newspapers by Edward Stratemeyer. Most have not been seen since they first appeared on the pages of the Newark Sunday Call in the 1890s.
  • Beyond the Edge of the World (1891) — An early unpublished science fiction story set around 200 BC with a young Roman who travels across the Atlantic and finds an advanced civilization in the area we call North America. Includes four new commissioned illustrations by Ron Miller.

The Mine Train Thru Nature's Wonderland

A Disneyland Attraction until 1977

We love this ride and collect anything related to it. We have been putting together the research necessary to build a model of it since 1999. We have just begun construction although it is slow going for now. We plan to build a 7 foot by 7 foot model in HO scale but with N gauge track (HOn30) to simulate the narrow-gauge layout of the original.

We also have our little 7.5-inch gauge train, as of September 2005, which we call the New Nature's Wonderland Railroad. We have picture galleries of the train here. We hope to build mine cars for it eventually and also have a more accurate reproduction of the locomotive in the future but this little electric train is a good start.

We are always looking for more information; memories of the ride; pictures, films or audio clips from it; and, of course, collectibles or parts from the ride or the nearby Mineral Hall (another fascination for us). Please contact us if you wish to share any of the above with us.

Current Weather in Paradise

The Stratemeyer Syndicate was a "book packager" established in 1905 to supply publishers with juvenile and adult books in series. It was the brainchild of Edward Stratemeyer (1862-1930) who was a writer and editor of juvenile stories.

The site is devoted to information about the creator of Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, Tom Swift, the Bobbsey Twins, the Rover Boys and many other juvenile series book characters.

Do you like to read books with Time Travel in them? If so, this searchable database will help you find more of them. There are over 3,000 books entered so far and more are being added all the time. You can search by title, author, method of time travel, people met on the journey, etc. If you want to find books where someone travels back to the Civil War, search for them here!

Series Book Magazine Index

Interested in children's series books? Don't know where to get more information about your favorite author, illustrator, series, or character? There are many good references out there but some remain relatively little known.

Another problem was that there was no way to know which issues of the magazine have the info you want--until now! I have indexed many of the references you might need to find info on juvenile series books to make it easier for you to do your research.
